Sounds strange but sometimes I get a really deep painful ache in the above area, the fleshy bit at base of neck to shoulder, sorry only way I can describe it. Not sure if this is heart related pain or muscular I had it 3 nights running laying in bed, had to take paracetamol, now it's disappeared worried in case it's a heart related pain. Not serious enough to go to docs fir. Thank you.

PAIN ACROSS TOP OF SHOULDERS CLAVICLE FLESHY AREA
if this was me I’d go to a chiropractor or similar to see if it’s to do with muscles and tendons.
Hello
Anything that is concerning you is worth going to the Doctors
It could be muscular but getting it checked over can then determine how best to treat the problem
Let us know how you get on x
have you been sitting more than usual or travelling by car?
I get a lot of back pains (have done since I worked in a bank in my early 20s) and the particular area you’re talking about always occurs if I’ve been sitting around (like at Christmas) or on long journeys.
Very painful and an additional worry you don’t need. Hope it’s better soon.
Hi, I get the same thing mainly at the end of the day, early evening. Deep ache at base of the neck and across the shoulders. Occurs intermittently and goes after a little while if I sit down . I put it down to the stresses during the day. I don't think it's anything to do with my heart. I've had a triple bypass, AV replacement and have a pacemaker so am quite tuned in to heart problems.
Hi Quaddie, it maybe muscular but I had this pain in my lower neck and across my shoulders every time I went out walking and sometimes in the house. It’s unusual and hard to describe like you said. It felt like pressure as well that couldn’t be relieved. It was for quite a few weeks then i was diagnosed with Myocarditis & Pericarditis. After resting for a few months which is what I was told to do it went completely. Like I said everyone is different and it may not be this for you. I think only scans like Echo and MRI can identify this just speaking to the doctor with your symptoms will take you down the muscular route first. Try and rest as much as you can with gentle sitting down exercises incase it is muscular to release the tension. Hope you go on ok. Joy x
Hi, I read your bio and can see you have had lots of investigations - that must have been tough! I had a similar pain to the one you describe for a whole day - tried to sleep it off but couldn’t get comfortable. Only rang 111 when the pain spread to my arm - turned out to be a mild heart attack. I would definitely mention it to the specialists and if it happens again call 111 and ask their advice.
no - nothing at all. It was totally out of the blue.
I had a mild pain in between my shoulder blades whilst sitting at work one day, then sweating and dizziness, turns out I was having a heart attack and by the end of the day had two stents fitted..... Best to get it checked out
