I get episodes of a very fast heart rate which generally have been less frequent. But last night I woke up and got out of bed, and then had a racing heart of 150 according to my Apple Watch and I felt uncomfortable and anxious. I’ve had this a few times before but not for months. Once I lay down it went away. I have a cold at the moment and wondered if anyone noticed heart symptoms get worse when you are unwell? I get Svt and have done since catching ‘that virus’ at the start of the year

Ah so sorry to hear, have you spoken to your GP about it? I remember when I had a lower respiratory tract infection and I would cough and my heart rate would shoot up to 170! So I actually did end up in hospital for 2 weeks. Hope you feel better soon xx
Hi Yumz thanks for your reply, and reading other posts are you have been under the weather recently too, sorry to hear that!
I haven’t spoken to the gp, I don’t think I’d even get through on the phone if I tried as they are so busy. Thankfully it seems to be on its way out after a good night sleep so hopefully will settle down soon. Xx
Hi sorry to hear you’re not well with the seasonal cold, and yes my heart does all kinds of things when I have a cold. I think that’s another reason why we can’t take cold meds because of the stuff they’re made up of. I hope you recover soon. All the best
Thanks for your reply! Glad to hear that I’m not alone in it, it’s been jumping about all over the place yesterday and today. But feeling better today so hopefully settles down soon. Yes I don’t take any cold and flu tablets after reading about it!
