In the absence of a reply I think you should rely on the professional opinion of your health professional who has access to all of your records. We are all unique and what might seem standard for one person might not be the case for the next. But if you want a second professional opinion I suggest you talk to the BHF Heart Helpline nurse.
Is your doctor a heart specialist or a GP. I think you should be referred to a Cardiologist to get a proper diagnosis and treatment. It must have been a horrible shock for you to get this news, but good they have found out. My dad had a heart attack in his sleep and new nothing about it until his yearly check up and had an ecg. I hope things go well for you and wish you all the best.
Congratulations on your first post, thank you for sharing your experience!
I haven’t had a heart attack but when I was first diagnosed with heart failure (borderline severe at that time), I was prescribed a beta blocker and ace inhibitor as you have been.
However I struggled to tolerate them and now I take ivabradine only. On the plus side, even with a 3rd pregnancy and a regression of heart function back in 2021; I’m pleased to say that my EF has stabilised at 45% over the last 12 months so I’m pleased about that at least 😁
How are you coping on the medication, do you tolerate them ok?
I hope that you will soon be able to share similar positive news in the coming months!
