Help on un-diagnosed heart problem

I am 22 and female, I weigh 9 stone and I have been having the feeling of thudding in my chest and neck every day, chest pains and random racing heart for around 1 year. I had numerous ECG tests (the monitor) and blood tests and they found nothing. I was then taken in an ambulance again last week with a heart rate whilst resting of 152 bpm. Months ago the doctors put this down to anxiety, the doctor now said he heard a heart murmur and it’s definitely not down to anxiety. I am on 1.25 bisoprolol. I can feel my heart beating hard even when it’s slow, this is especially worse after eating, and in a morning. Can anyone shine some light on what this could be as it’s so scary and the doctors don’t seem to know what’s wrong with me.

Thanks

Hello there - sorry to hear about all the symptoms you're having, and I can understand this feels quite scary when you don't have any answers yet. If you haven't already, you can speak to your doctor about having an echocardiogram (an ultrasound of your heart) to see if there might be any issues with the structure of your heart causing the symptoms. I wasn't sure from your post if you'd had a portable ECG monitor on for 24hrs or more, but if not then this is something else you can discuss.

I hope the bisoprolol has helped with your symptoms a little, but if not 1.25mg is the smallest dose and it could be increased if your doctor thinks this is appropriate.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Hopefully ur gp will refer u to a cardiologist as they have found a murmur. I have a heart murmur and it’s ok but u may end up having a op or maybe more ops thoughout ur lifetime

Hi I am 59 yrs old female and weigh 8.5 st, very fit cyclist and started having problems 18 months ago, racing heart, breathlessness, heavy thumping heart and hot flushes, in that order, plus an increase in the volume of my tinnitus. Initially diagnosed with high blood pressure, and then a couple of months later high TSH ( thyroid stimulating hormone) but a month after starting the tablets for the thyroid problems still persisting. 2 ECG's, Chest Xray and blood tests before a referral to a cardiologist, a stress test proved ventricular tachycardia, so then an MRI scan, luckily for me no damage, disease or defects found. I am now recovering from "ablation", I still get a a thumping heart but this is due to the tablets I am on. Suggest that you either push to see a cardiologist or get a heart rate monitor, some of which you can print off the results, and show these to your doctor. Mine would rocket from 120 BPM to over 200 BPM scary stuff, keep pushing the doctors, and in the meantime I found when had panic attacks due to worry/anxiety I took Bach's Rescue Remedy, I also tried "Tapping". Hope this helps, Good luck

Hello sorry to hear this and at such a young age. I would suggest keeping a diary listing symptoms and their scale. You can show this data to your dr. I would seriously spend time researching for new technology and best gadget for you there loads from Fitbit to watch with ecg on. I use the cheapest version and this has helped me to understand what my heart is doing. This can reassure me nothing is going on but also taught me to know symptoms when something was going on. ECG is the scientific way but a Fitbit helps to show your GP data that more is required.

From them. Heart issues and anxiety have similar characteristics & u need to be honest matching your data with your day to day schedule. I have heart condition diagnosed at 50 but my anxiety and stressy personality been around many years. What came first chicken or egg!
