Have been active building up exercise and swimming well.
Today walked a dog for the first time. She pulled a bit and after a while I found a slight discomfort in my right chest. This is a different “action” to swimming etc and I assuming will just become ok with time. Anyone any advice? I will be honest and say I know so little about angina after a heart attack and hope it isn’t that!
If your chest pains keep arising talk to your GP. If you get unexpected and serious chest pains, call 999. That is basically the NHS advice. However it sounds like a muscle pull to me. The older we get, the more suspectible to this sort of injury we become 😒
I had a STEMI and stent fitted just over a year ago. I too worried about any pains in the chest and that is natural. I was advised that the way to differentiate a muscle pang from a heart issue is that the latter will not be relieved by a change of position. For example an angina attack will be painful and will continue until relieved by rest or GTN. Simply getting into a different position will not ease it, whereas a muscle problem can be usually be eased by relaxing the muscle or shifting your position/posture, rubbing it or massage etc. I haven’t actually experienced any heart pains or angina since my HA so don’t speak from experience, just what I was advised by cardiac nurse. Others with actual experience of angina may be able to confirm or refute this.
