Good afternoon, the other day I ask for your help that I didn’t feel right in my chest the funny thing was the time I got to the GP on Friday I had nothing but I started to get a pain on my right side oh my goodness the pain is not good hurts when I breathe walk etc. Anyway saw my GP she did all the checks funny I forgot I had Xray few weeks back on the side of my back she had a look she said you have arthritis wear and tear 🤷‍♀️😊 so I am dealing with that she said you are very active anyway she said keep on going to the gym and walking the key is she said keep active. I tell you this business of getting old is no joke just have to embrace it 😂😂 I am 69 in case you all thought I was about 90 you have to keep cheerful keep on going. Have a lovely day let’s keep on fighting. 😂😂🤗

Good morning Ruby300. I like your attitude. But it's all we can do. There's no new parts for us old ones and if there is they don't want to do the operation for 1 reason or another they come up with. I have just gone 68. And was hoping to enjoy retirement but health soon put a dampner on that idea. But we have to keep smiling and carrying on the best we can. Enjoy your day. Brian

Hi Bingo88, I know what you mean it can be hard sometimes plus no one wants to do or help but then we have to find a way to help ourselves otherwise we just get worse and died. I retired at 62 then two years ago HA but you know what I learnt going through that experience don’t give up you or we can still enjoy our retirement if you can still get around go for a walk if it is only five/ ten mins you doing something or if you like swimming I can’t swim but I did go the other day for dance swim 😂😂 until I went under. I learnt a lot from my neighbour she moved now but she is 91 oh my goodness you should have see what she could do so there still hope for us yet. Let me know how you get on I think it’s nice we all can talk on here I don’t think it should be about illness all the time do you we can encourage each other. Take care my lovely.

Yes, keep going Ruby. Walking and exercise is good for you both physically and mentally. I suffer from arthritis, but it doesn't stop me climbing hills... and big ones too. I'm always surprised at what I can achieve and extremely thankful for it as many younger people cannot do what I do at my age (71, HA, stents and bypass). 😀

Well, due to family commitments I'm having a quiet October. Next month will just be Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh (a meer tiddler), then subject to the weather will have to see how it goes. Ben Lawers in August was fun - I do love the Munros, but some of the small hills are more challenging. Not sure how many years I have until I have to hang up my boots.

Incidentally I've found Turmeric (high grade medical grade, not culinary) very helpful with my arthritis, but it's a personal choice entirely and not recommended for some.

I know how you feel Ruby300! I’m 70 in a month’s time. In the last year I have been diagnosed with Microvascular disorder and atrial fibrillation. I have waited 4+ years for a spinal fusion and then at my pre-op appointment was told they wouldn’t do surgery because of my heart condition, I am in constant pain from that and to top it all, I can’t take anti-inflammatory medication because of the blood thinners I now have to take for Afib 😢. I was just coming to terms with all that when, two months ago suddenly, I lost the sight in my left eye and have been told I have the same condition developing in the other eye!! Getting old is not for the feint hearted 😂. Every day I wonder “what’s next?” We keep going though don’t we, there is no other option. Take care x

Good morning, so sorry to hear what you are going through my is nothing compared to you. But we have to keep strong and take one day at a time I know sometimes it is hard when I had massive heart attack two years ago oh my goodness it was such a shock you go through all these feelings but thank God I came through it we have to carry on. Can you manage if someone told us when we was young that we will be going through all this rubbish when we get to certain age we wouldn’t believe them. Take courage my lovely sending big hugs. xx

Thank you for your kind words Ruby300. Yes, we don’t know how fortunate we are if we are lucky enough to have good health when young! We keep going though don’t we, the alternative is far worse? Keep on keeping on, the only way is forward with courage xxx
