Spooky season is now upon us! I would love to hear some of your funniest or scariest Halloween stories/traditions in the replies! πŸ‘»

It has been a great first month here as a Moderator on Health Unlocked, I have seen some really supportive conversations, which is great to see!

Thank you,

Luke from the BHF 😊

Hi Luke,

Happy October to everyone its going to be an eventful month in our house with a mix of medical, family and friends, various events and goings on both stressful mixed with happy I hope, but More of that later

best tip I ever got, was to grow on a compost heap worked great, with a large pumpkin about 2ft across!

I'm looking forward to Halloween in my new place where I have lived since the end of May just gone and now time has gone by I feel that having been evicted from my previous place was the best thing that could have happened to me even though it sounds sick!

Today I had a job interview at 11am and what I did was I went early and got a crowded 8am bus that I am frightened of but I did it and survived it and next time I go it will be easy!

I had a nice walk round the area where the interview was after I had got the crowded bus which helped calm me down.

I went away from the interview feeling I had given it my best which is all you can do really!

I won't be heartbroken if I don't get the job though!

Monday just gone I was due to have an interview for 1pm but it ended up getting cancelled so I have written to them to see if they want to rebook for another day and if they don't I won't get upset over it!

However I did go down into the city centre on purpose early on a crowded bus to prove to myself everything is fine and there's no reason to be frightened and went shopping as planned which I enjoyed in spite of the cancelled interview.

I am finding it rewarding building up my confidence but I reassure you I won't be getting crowded buses at every chance God sends though!

I have a phone interview tomorrow afternoon at 2pm and one a week Friday at 11.30am.

Today I went past the places I had lost out on when I was house hunting before I got evicted back in May and looking back I feel not getting those places was a blessing in disguise as I don't think I would have been happy there.

They turned my old apartment building into an air b and b place like I had suspected and when I found out I wasn't surprised!

In the July of 2022 when everyone got given notice to leave the apartments I had said to one of the other tenants there how I had seen that coming for ages and I wasn't surprised getting that notice but still it was a shock though!

Turns out those notices were invalid as I had suspected they were and they had sent me a new one in the November of 2022 to leave in January and at the start of March I had received court papers and a defence form which I had filled out and sent to court ASAP.

It was the Saturday of Mother's day weekend when I received an official frightening brown envelope from the court saying that Judge had arranged a hearing for the Tuesday after Easter as they had messed up the paperwork which I went to and put my points across and they had gone out of court with faces like thunder when they were told no they weren't getting Β£2000 of costs like they had asked and to get stuffed when they had asked for a high court bailiff and had shouted at Judge how they would have to wait for the county court bailiffs wouldn't they?

Thankfully the wait for the county court bailiffs was only 6 weeks and I'm thankful I wasn't stuck there for months on end waiting for the bailiffs letter saying when they were coming in to evict!

Thankfully I left before the bailiffs came in to evict!

Happy October!

At 31 I never would have thought I’d be joining and posting on a BHF forum about heart concerns but I suppose no one does! I’ve only been a member a very short time but everyone has been so friendly and helpful, especially when I’ve been left confused or looking for more information about diagnoses and treatment.

Thanks everyone!

Thing is heart problems don't discriminate based on how old you are!

Glad you are enjoying your first month as Moderator on HU but do you think you could take more notice and act more swiftly about situations when members are having access suspended because of being inappropriately reported , for example , in situations like the ones around the quiz submitted by Michael , a hardworking Heart Star.If bad replies appear on a persons post it's the replier whom should be suspended not the post it was on or person whom wrote the post .

Sorry , for our first communication to be a negative response , but I didn't seem to get an answer from Admin / Moderation when I originally posted about the lack of Moderation going on.

Hope things are resolved soon , I'm sure it must just be some of the early hiccups of starting the job. Bee

Hi Luke glad u like your new job. I agree with Blearyeyed, answers/response would be most welcome. I LOVE & look forward to Michaels quizzes & virtual get togethers - a life line for isolated hearties so very worthy of being on this forum.

Hi Luke. I just found this thread. I am new to this BHF space and finding everone one here very friendly and helpful.

I'm sorting out my directives for housing and care, including end of life care. I'm stuck at the end of life care as none of my family can do this and I don't know anyone in the town where I am living now

Time to start preparing for the dreaded "C" word. Making the cake, and putting the sprouts on to boil.

The sun has been streeming through the living room window for weeks so I haven't put the heating on yet. Makes no difference having the curtains closed and the air conditioning going full blast
