10k run. Doing good so far have 5 runs under my belt. Not at great length or speed. But improving every run. So as long as knee joints hold I'm confident I can do the 10k next June for the British heart Foundation πŸ˜πŸ‘ thanks for all the support everyone. 😘

Mines is in the Glasgow area. But if you look up event for British heart Foundation it will give a list of places and dates. Glad I've inspired others. Let me know if you find a run. Please. XπŸ‘πŸ˜

Fantastic. I started the running journey 18 months ago and it's been brilliant on so many levels. A real surprise has been what I guess is the strengthening of my joints. I had knee pains going down stairs and the beginnings of a left hip joint problem. I thought these issues might be a limiting factor when I started Couch to 5k. But my joints are no longer an issue. I started with Parkruns after completing C25K and did my first 10k The Naseby Battlefield Run a month ago and it was really uplifting. I run quite slowly, but as I've built up the distance my Parkruns have improved. But...... 'Its a Run not a Race' . Enjoy every run . (M age 71!)

That sounds positive and you doing great. I'll not be fast runner either. Used to be in past life πŸ˜‚ but knowing that there's light at the end of the tunnel is enough for me. I'm 67 in December πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ€žπŸ˜

I'll be 64 on the 16th December - my brain still thinks it's a lot younger though and I get a bit of shock sometimes when I catch sight of myself in the mirror! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ yes the mirror lies . And I still think I'm in my 20s so got rid of the mirror πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ’ͺ❀️

I really enjoy reading your updates, 22Alifie! You're doing so well and should be proud of yourself and all your efforts. It's so encouraging, and inspirational, for everyone to read about what can be achieved and also how much you're enjoying it. Onwards and upwards! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ»Carol x

Please take care tho and don't overdo it. It's not a race. Slow and steady wins the race πŸ’ͺ. πŸ‘

I'll definitely do one. I am (or was?) a marathon runner trying to get my fitness back after a you know what. Small steps etc.

Yes definitely small steps. I run for years hiked all over Scotland and other areas. And cycle everywhere. So it was a big shock to me and my friends. But onwards and upwards. So yes baby steps. I've got a wee program I'm following. So will stick with it. πŸ€žπŸ™πŸ’ͺ😁❀️X
