My chest pain seems to be worse randomly on this, I keep getting a sharp pain followed by an icy fear flowing through me. Not sure what to think? I'm feeling more anxious too

Hi Frostedpineapple (love your title!). I am not very good with side effects from meds, I could not tolerate Rampiril due to pain in my chest and a hacking cough. I hope you get sorted, take care, Judi

Hey Judi, thanks for the response. It is very jarring and scary when the chest pain comes. I've only been on it two days so far but I'm just looking for reassurance I'm not dying. I do keep seeing chest pain is a side effect of it but I'm scared every time it happens. Thank you hope you're keeping well too

Hi when I first spoke to the doctors, I was told they would increase the dose! I explained that I was struggling with the pain and a cough and consequently not sleeping. I changed my medication and within a few days was much better! 🤗

That's great news, I'll have to go back! It's not worth the worry I've been dealing with. It has helped my heart palpitations a bit though

It did mine for a while. In the end I was put on another tablet and I have recently been advised to stop my bp meds completely by the doctor so I will see how it goes. Jude

Hi, yes I cannot tolerate Ramipril it gave me a terrible stitch like pain in left side of my chest . Valsartan seemed to work for me when I told the doctor Ramipril was not suitable for me.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I've felt ok so far today (touch wood). Maybe it was my body getting used to it? I hope so. I've been under a lot of stress lately so that doesn't help things. My chemist was raving about how great ramipril was but I've not seen many people agree so far!

Hi my sympathy. Side effects can be distressing (personal experience) but the right meds or combination of meds with minimal side effects are there for you. Go back to your doctor. Persevere and all will be fine. Best wishes.
