Some good news

Well after my hospital stay with servere chest pain, I've had my private cardiology appointment.

I had an echo which is all normal according to the cardiologist and a treadmill stress test which he also said I did a little above average on.

He said he was 99% sure there was no physical problem with my heart, however he couldn't give me a reason about my tachycardia and occasional mega high heart rate so has suggested that I keep my CT Angio and 7 day monitor appointments with the NHS (when they come through).

He reviewed all my NHS records and blood tests and in his opinion he thinks my anxiety is the main cause of my chest pain (still doesn't feel like it to me but I'm going to try to take on board what several professionals have told me).

I've been told to continue with my bisoprolol for now as they want my resting rate as close to 60 as possible for the Angio.

Hopefully this is positive news for the future, but I still feel the chest pain and have the bouts of tachycardia along with the pain in my legs (going to pay for a local podiatrist I think to do a ABPI test to try and put my mind further at rest).

I’m glad to hear the angio came back clear, that’s great news! I’m sorry that doesn’t help in explaining your chest pains that you’re still experiencing. The cardiologist has given you good advice to follow up with your NHS appointments as and when they come through. Fingers crossed they will be clear too.

Have you been put on any anxiety reducing meds or referred to Talking Therapies on the NHS? Both might help relieve the anxiety if this is what is causing your symptoms.

Good luck.

Hi Tos,

It was Echo and stress test that came back good. No angio yet.

Yes, I'm on some meds for my anxiety, I'm doing talking therapies with Local IAPT team and I'm also paying a private Psychiatrist for therapy once a week.

Sorry, the echo and stress test. My 3 hours of sleep last night are definitely showing today 🙈.

Those are still two good tests to have and it’s good news that they are clear. They probably won’t do an angio if you’re still young and your other heart-related tests came back clear. I still get told by cardiologists that I was too young for an angio when I had mine however, due to my raised troponin, the cardiologist did what he felt was right at the time of my heart attack.

Great to hear you’re being proactive with tackling the anxiety. Do you feel like this is helping?

Slowly slowly I think the therapy, meds and ruling out physical misnomers is helping.

It's a CT Angio so non invasive so I believe they will press on with it.

That’s good to hear. I am being treated for health anxiety at the moment. It’s interesting to see some of the methods used to treat it.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the results of the CT angio are positive too!

Hello :-)

I think all this sounds very positive and I would be happy with what I was told after the tests

Anxiety can mimic heart issues as well as we should never dismiss things till we have been checked out and you have done that now and even come back on one of your tests as been above average

I think you are right in may be listening to the professionals they can't all be wrong can they :-)

You have the last few tests to have done so that is another positive they have not dismissed you they are just doing these last tests so they can tick all the boxes but I have a feeling they will come back ok and I know you will let us know

You are doing and getting support with your anxiety which hopefully will start to make a difference so you are doing all you can which is another positive :-)

I know it is not easy when you have anxiety I really suffer myself but try as much as you can and hopefully things will slowly settle down and feel better moving on :-) x

Hi there. I have experienced chest pain with an Anxiety and it's more like pressure than anything else. Did you experience pain just in the one leg. It could be a number of things which causes chest pain. I would try and enjoy your holiday and not to worry. I know it's hard but just try.take care.
