Hi I am new to forum like to share my story and I like to how do I move on in my life with 3 stents in my ❤️ heart. I tell you about my physical fitness I am keep walker love walking 10 to 20km a day with bmi of 23 , I got high triglacirides levels around 400 to 600 it depends but that's the range and that levels persist with me from decades this years 2023 since January on my 50th birthday I start to feel tired when I walk I thought its corona related in April I was on hiking trip and I felt far behind everyone I felt something wrong I wnet for hospital checkups all came clear which include blood test ETT Echo another month gone now its July I felt some left arm pain upset stomach again I did my all test in ER all came clear another week gone while driving I felt some blink of pain for 1 tenth of second I went straight to ER and went through all check this time doctors found some problem while performing ETT now CT Scan reveled bloclag3 in 2 to 3 places so I end up with 3 stents it as 70 80 and 99 % blockage and its all calcium , as per Dr my pattern look like genetic rather diet . Now from 4 weeks am taking it easy walking 5k a day every other day , light work in garden no heavy lifting, now first time in my life I have to take 5 to 6 pills a day I feel how long should I rest I am mentally not ready to run job or lift any heavy weight even my 5 to 10 kilo backpack, recently I take a 6 hour flight but with fear . It was un my plan to visit k2 basecamp this year but seems not possible. I like to know if any of members can share stories of life after stent. Thanks All.

Hello and welcome to the forum no one wants to join !Like you, I have 3 stents.

Mine were following a heart attack on 27th February this year .

I'm 66 but was over weight at 5'8" and 13.5 stone .

I spent the first couple of weeks trying to accept what had happened and started a few very short walks a few days later .

My confidence then started to return and my waking thoughts were no longer 'Oh, I've had a heart attack'

I was on a telephone rehab support from my local hospital (not where I was stented)

I gradually built my walks up to 45 mins and then an hour .

I have since re Started Couch to 5k and finished the course again .

I have now also lost 2.5 stone and back to a healthy weight with a BMI now similar to yours .

I have put a recent type 2 diagnosis back into total remission and am now on a stage 4 rehab program at my local gym which is concentrating on upper body strength and Cardio work , I also include a 30 minute treadmill run while there .

My GP has taken me off beta blockers now and I am doing well (as far as I know)

I guess this boils down to saying I'm doing fine with 3 stents !

Infact I'm sure I'm fitter than I was before.

I am now 6 months on from my HA.

So I'm sure you will get where you want to be in time 👍

Best wishes , Ian

Hi IAN thanks a lot for sharing me your story, I had very active life style now trying to bring it back, 4 weeks after stenting I am now able to do 5k or 4k every few days only thing I am not doing lifting any weight above 5 kilo don't know why I am doing it but I don't know how long I do it , I took 6 four flight week after stenting now I have to take another flight next week probably 7 to 8 hour flight with handcarry or backpack around 10 kilo I hope that's not issue for stented person . So far doctor told me eat what you like but I am on strict diet mostly mackerel or sardines once a day with leafy vegetables, if anyone share how to move on from stenting to lifting weight as we do in normal life would be great. As I feel embarrassed not to lift package or heavy items which I use to do. Thanks.

Hi, This week I have had my 17th stent inserted. My first stent went in 22 years ago. I am 76 years of age I take regular exercise non smoker. For me the stenting is a life saver and I have never had any problems or after effects from the procedure. I think it is important to try to get back to your normal life activities as soon as possible walking etc. Take the medication prescribed and all will be good.
