Hi all. Since my HA 7 weeks ago I have had the unmentionable virus, a chest infection and now a UTI. I am on a second dose of antibiotics for both the chest infection & UTI. I feel that my immune system is weak as prior to the HA I hardly had any any infections.
Does anyone feel the same? Is it normal after a HA?
Thanks

You must be feeling quite low by now dealing with all this and I really feel for you
Having a heart attack just 7 weeks ago you would still be getting over that and back to some kind of fitness but then to catch these on top you will be feeling run down and as if your immune system is low as you have not had chance to recover from one thing before you have caught another one as well as antibiotics making you possibly feel yuk
I hope the unmentionable has gone now and once you get this chest infection and UTI cleared up give yourself time to get your strength up again and work on your recovery you will feel a lot better but it is quite normal after a heart attack to feel your immunity system has taken a battering but things will improve
I totally agree with BeKind, seven weeks is early days for recovery and your immune system will be below par. Having all the infections you've had I think is unfortunate rather than what might be considered the norm. I had no problems after my HA, in fact as the stents I had improved my cardio-vascular system, if anything my health improved as well.
I've been taking vitamin D since the appearance of the virus that shall not be named and although it hasn't stopped me getting it, I feel I have been able to fight it better.
Obviously being on anti-biotics you are seeking the help of your GP, so hopefully your health will improve soon.
Thank you both for your reassuring words. I am finding it quite difficult at the moment with feeling physically and mentally weak. I worry about all little aches in my back and shoulders. I try to concentrate on the positives and go through the mental conversation with myself to try and prep me up. It is just difficult at the moment.
Keeping positive is the key. Life will get better. Appreciate the small improvements day by day, but keep a longer term goal in mind. If you need further help or reassurance from your GP do continue to seek it.
