Perfusion Scan

Had an appoinment today with my favourite doctor, and longstanding Cardiologist.

Appointment went well, he seems happy enough with my progress with the HF Team. Next stage to be something new to me after all these years.

A Perfusion Scan - based on how my EF comes out will decide if (a) my Pacemaker batteries are replaced as planned in the next few months or (b) referred to Newcastle Freeman for a CRT-D device to be fitted.

My preference is (a), so hopefully there'll be a decent increase on the 30% EF from Echo in March.

BP and Heart Rate were ok today, so appt with HF Team tomorrow shouldn't throw up any issues unless bloods comes back iffy again.

Cardio reckons it 3 to 4 weeks for the Perfusion Scan appt so should be done in July, subject to industrial action.

Good to hear all is well for the time-being.

Do keep us updated on tomorrow’s appointment with the HF team.

Fingers crossed the medications have worked to improve the EF and you can go ahead with your preference of having the batteries on your pacemaker replaced.

3-4 weeks is actually a very decent time to get an appointment for a Perfusion Scan. I did mine privately in the end as the wait was well over 6 months.

Yes, it seems a decent timeframe up here, but, I'm already on a 4 month pacemaker review so they dont want to have to change the batteries and then open me up again for the CRT- D device soon after.

Today was good for my wife as well, as she's seen so many of these appointments go pear shaped over the years.

Wish you good luck for the test. Please make sure to follow pre-test instructions. Such as, fast for the time suggested before the procedure, avoid caffeine and alcohol on the day of the scan etc.
