TOE done for ASD

To try to help my daughter cope with this we give a silly name to my appointments. Operation Big Toe has been completed uneventfully (TOE scan), I didn’t sleep very well for 2 nights before so there wasn’t much chance of “fighting the sedative” 😀. Preliminary assessment from the consultant doing it was that my hole is suitable for the high-tech blind grommet. Pending confirmation, it looks like Operation Plughole will go ahead in a few weeks. Now I just need to get my head round it all 😀.

Hi RumblingChest

I’m glad the appointment went well and you’re now waiting on a date for your upcoming operation.

I wish you the best of luck for the operation and will look out for an update should you wish to inform us once it’s completed.

Wish you & your family all the best.

Operation Plughole 😂😂 I love it and I think it’s great to try and alleviate tension and concerns with humour 🙂

I had 3 wisdom teeth out recently and my son wanted the teeth 🦷 I think to help him visually process what was going to happen to me. I did ask but some miscommunication resulted in me going back to the ward without the teeth but thankfully when I came home and explained with my swollen face and bruising I think he was satisfied with the explanation bless him 🤣🙈

Sending best wishes for your upcoming surgery and a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

Please keep us posted, take care!

😀 That was a close thing with not having the evidence! I can remember a somewhat gruesome fascination with seeing the kidney stones my Dad had removed. I had absolutely no concept of what an operation was or why he was in a rather ugly bedroom. But stones, from inside Dad!!

After my HA I had all the tests going, and I can confidently say that Operation Big Toe was the worst. They ended up having to give me enough sedative to fell an elephant!

Best wishes for Operation Plughole xx

Crikey! That doesn’t sound “fun” at all.

I was having trouble sleeping with the whole business putting weird thoughts into my dreams but LadyZ13 ’s blog had “de-feared” me about the TOE itself. I was totally out of it soon after the mouthguard went in 😂 (must get me some of that stuff for work meetings).

I must be one of the weird ones, I didn’t even mind the “bitter banana” spray. Not saying I’ve been in training with beer or anything 😀.

I’ve had the voice of Barry White for a day, so that’s an upside 😉.

For some reason I have only just noticed this comment and I'm so pleased that my blog was helpful and that your TOE was manageable. Thanks so much for sharing your story too.
