I am new to this group, it seems to be a nice place! I am a professional that moved to the UK since December 2019, and I have and ICD implanted since August 2016. My question that I would like to ask, I maybe rather seeking for advice... is... I can't really talk about it on a job interview, and I'm not sure if I should. It is something I am kind of hiding since. I started to think, if this is maybe not the best - for me? Has any of you had similar experience, or maybe, experiencing the same now? In other words, do you have difficulties telling this to anyone, when you think it would be reasonable to do so?
I will look forward to hear from you all. I'm trying to talk about this openly, I'm not sure how - I hope I wasn't too much into the core

I would say to not mention it during an interview, however if you got offered a job I think you would need to tell them, so the company can make a personal risk assessment for you. Good luck in your job search
Yeah it was exactly the risk assessment that brought it to my attention. I was thinking, maybe this is something why I don't get in to interviews often - other times I was thinking I don't want to sell myself with that I have an ICD implant, so better just leave it and not to mention it. Thanks!
I'm sure you know the "do not do's" with an ICD fitted better than any employer would and that you've thought about this before applying for a position.I would not say a word about it.
It's 7 years since you had it fitted and I assume that you are living a full and active life.
Employers are quite rightly worried about the "rights" of staff and subsequent expenses and disruption to the businesses that can arise from people's medical conditions..... don't put this barrier in the way of gaining employment.
