hi I take losartan 100mgs amlodipine 5mgs bisoprolol 1.25 Flecainide 100 mgs for PAF and hypertension . My GP has now prescribed Elantan LA 25 fir Microvascular Angina . I am now worried about the side effects of the combination . Does anyone have any experience of these drugs together .

Hi Caradomben

Your pharmacist would be the best to advise you on the interaction of those meds together if there are any.

I’m under the assumption that the GP would have prescribed Elantan with your other medications in mind to ensure there was limited / no interactions.

But it is safer to get a second opinion to be sure. GP, pharmacist or even 111 can be helpful.

All the best.

Like yourself, I had some concerns over adding another drug to an existing cocktail of medication that had worked well for me for a good amount of time. In this instance it was actually at my request that Nifedipine was added to my existing medication in order to deal with the increasing problems I've been having with Raynauds syndrome. I found out about the drug from my daughter who also suffers from Raynauds.

With the help of the Clinical Pharmacist at my GP surgery, the addition was trialed and monitored. The result was that it found to be beneficial. I felt confident having the contact with the Pharmacist who was very knowledgeable about the effects of the drug and its possible interactions with my existing medication. I wonder whether your GP practice has a Pharmacist that can assist you.

Hi. I am on Losartan one a day. I used to be Verampril but that gave me continous dry cough.. My other meds are : ranolazine and diltiazem twice a day, monomil ( supposed to be one day but I takec half tablet in the morning and the other half in the evening Then the other usual (?) Meds : statin and aspirin.

I also take ducosate because Ranolazine can slow down the colon giving rise to constipation

My diet is 100% mediterranean : mixed salad olive oil fruit every day. Lots water, green tea.with.mint

Hope that helps
