Medication Dose Timing

Hi, I have recently been prescribed three different bp medications. One of which is giving me side effects I do not like. Concor Cor 2.5 I started taking in the am. It makes exercising difficult because it slows down my heart rate. I tried going down to 1.25 mg but that caused my bp to go up. So I went back to the 2.5 and am taking it am & pm per a pharmacist suggestion. It now is making my heart feel like it is skipping beats throughout the day. I would like to return taking the 2.5 mg once a day in the am. My question is, if I take my second 1.5 dose in the evening, can I just start taking the 2.5 mg the next am and continue with that schedule?

Dear you,

With all drugs its about the half life { how long a certain amount stays in the body } of the drug.

I can see that you are across the water { a warm welcome } so if you just phoned/talked to your pharmacist I'm sure they can tell you the answer you need.

On most medication it states that if you miss a dose, just wait for the next time it was due, so you could skip this evening dose and then went onto your full dose in the morning.

BUT I'm not medically trained so don't do this until you have the ok of someone that is, which I presumed you had in the first place to reduce it the last time.

Take care

Hi, I never thought of doing that. That might work. I will definitely try and get to a pharmacy to ask a pharmacist about it. Thank you

Hello :-)

I would be guessing if I answered your question and with this one you have to get it right so I would contact your Doctor or pharmacist they will be able to tell you :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

you’d be better to either ask your GP or pharmacist. I’m not sure how long the medication stays in your body. If it’s slow release it may not clear through your system for a while. Best to check to be sure. Good luck x
