Not much happened yesterday but today I had to take the dog to the vets because she has been a bit miserable the last couple of days๐.
Anyway, the upshot of it all is that she has two loose teeth at the front and this is causing her a lot of discomfort. So she has been booked in next week to have the teeth removed which will cost about ยฃ1,000.๐ฏ.
Can you imagine how much our treatment would cost for our heart issues if we didn't have the NHS. So it's a big thumbs up from me to all who work for the NHS๐.
This afternoon, I just went for my exercise with the dog after she pestered me to go, and got drenched, so thank you very much, I'm sure she did out out of revenge for the visit to the vet!!!๐.
If that wasn't enough, we had booked to go to an Italian Restaurant this evening but they just rang up and had to cancel all bookings as the Chef had pasta-way ๐๐๐๐

Look on the bright side, the cost of your meal tonight can go towards the bill for your dear dog to have it's teeth removed. I guess you have insurance. A cost of ยฃ1,000 to remove two teeth is crazy isn't it! Wouldn't cost a human that much to have two teeth removed privately. Injection in the gum, pliers out and two teeth removed.
If your dog did that because you took them to the vets then be careful next week when you take them and they remove their teeth when you take them for a walk as I feel they will be even more upset but hopefully as expensive as it is which is certainly a lot they will be a lot better x
She has had a 'ruff' time of it recently, she had a puncture in her chest which caused no end of problems resulting in a trip to the Vet hospital in Bristol where she had to have a MRI scan. For that she had to be anesthetised.
It was a long day as she doesn't like being in the car so a 160 mile round trip was not good for her๐.
It amazes me that the vets I always use for any pet or wildlife ailments has more lab and medical equipment than my GP's surgery, they answer the phone immediately, have an out of hours service and will even come to your home! Costs a heck of a lot more than the GP though! ๐คฃ๐ Hope your wee pooch recovers really well BigMel - it's awful when you're worried about them and they can't tell you what's wrong. Carol
JUst off phone to vet myself; dog woke me at 6am throwing up. Hope your dog is insured. I would seriously check prices elsewhere;that's ridiculous. Ours charges around ยฃ350.
That's unusual. Hard luck. Mine doesn't cover things l ike clean and polish but it does cover accidental damage, loose teeth etc. I had one that sneezed violently and knocked one loose. Removal was covered but that price is way over the top. As you say what a blessing we don't pay full amount to NHS
๐ถAbout the dental treatment for the doggy, this may sound awful but if the doggy hasn't many teeth left it may be as well to tell the vet to remove them if they are in a poor condition. The cost won't be any more.
When the vet told us our dog had to have 2 teeth removed I checked and she only had 3 total left so I told him to take all 3 out, no difference in cost and they have to do as you say, you are paying. She was so much happier, no more pain and she had no problem eating, just no biscuits.
