International Day of Qigong

Yesterday I attended an online day long conference about qigong and taiji. It was awesome and really encouraged me to develop a light but consistent qigong practice specifically for my apparently new heart condition. Today I am beginning my heart rehab exercise program, which, for now, will include walking 2500 steps a day and doing a short qigong form twice a day. It's a beginning and I'm feeling positive about it.

Last week I decided to stop teaching organ health qigong (which I've been studying for seven years) because when I'm teaching I don't want to inconvenience the students by ending the class early because I'm not feeling up to finishing the hour and a half session. Doing it on my own, I can stop and rest whenever I feel the need to.

I'm slowly adjusting to my new body. In my first few days of ramipril medication my blood pressure was all over the place. I usually have low blood pressure but it seemed like the ramipril was raising the BP instead of lowering it and that scared me. But today, it's what it has always been. I don't observe any lowering of BP because of ramipril.

I'll be doing a 3 - 5 hour stress test this Wednesday. I've never done one before. Any tips?

hi I have no tips on the stress test but it’s good to see how you are getting on with developing your “new life” and finding a new / different way to still enjoy what makes you happy. It would be easy to give up. Good luck for the test!
