Should it be ‘ You are Mr Lobby Ludd and I claim my £5’.

Showing my grandfather’s age… but what innocent and jolly fun they had in The Olden Days!

Indeed Oh what fun we had back in the day. But seriously I don't very often post in the Heart section as I afraid of being too "flippant" or offering unqualified opinions on questions asking about symptoms, but when a Mad Mod threatens banning someone for we know not what transgression, I feel a strange compulsion to query the reasons as TWU has. We know why Andy TexT was banned, too many Dad jokes but 187 replies overwhelmingly in support and still no reason given makes me wonder what a forum is all about.

Someone complains Too many dad jokes! and the joker gets banned? That's OTT to say the least.

yes perhaps you haven't been following the threads about the moderators threatening to ban some popular posts.

No, I haven't. It's a bit like private jokes, so I don't really appreciate them. But I wouldn't report anyone, when so many others clearly enjoy them.

Really? Maybe the BHF should state exactly what we can/can't say on the Front Page before Posting then. Not everyone reads the 'Community Guidelines'. A bit like reading ALL the 'Terms and Conditions' on other things. I don't!

Re the guidelines-I actually read them the other day thinking there would be something obvious to explain the policing going on.

The guidelines are quite vague, they do not say starkly that no general life chat is allowed .

If someone is taking huge offence at jokes or at info about exercise and the moderating team agree with this view, then the guidelines need to be amended to emphasise the need to only stay on very specific health topics. In which case I have no place on this particular forum as I don’t have the experiences that would qualify me to be on here.

However, it goes without saying that heart health, possible ensuing worry /anxiety, depression and general health & well being can be helped by so much more than just discussing eg medical matters/operations/medications/ symptoms .

Opening a more light hearted thread amongst the specific threads can be much more inclusive/less intimidating and can bond a community.

I utterly and completely agree with your comment, Jeremiah! Like the old BT advert - "it's good to talk" and surely talking about fears, and being offered reassurance in a thread which also offers light hearted comments, a can only do our heart health good..... Carol
