This is something that most Doctors get us to do if it might be a case of seeing if Statins are affecting us and I was told coming of them a couple of weeks will not harm anyone so I am almost sure you will be fine
Let us know if it makes aa difference and f so what they suggest you take instead x
Sorry to hear about your side effects with statins. I had a few side effects (tiredness/pins and needles) with statins last year and was told the same thing.
After having a HA in December 2022, I was told I had to take statins as a secondary prevention. The consultant prescribed Rosuvastatin based on my side effects and they have been ok 🤞🏽
l don’t think it will do you any harm for 14 days. It’s trial and error with some drugs and we are all different in that respect. It’s quality of life that is important and your doctor is quite right to find out what suits you. Side effects can be debilitating so l hope you soon feel better. He sounds a good doctor.
All medication and food has side effects and it's different for everyone... it comes down to what the individual can/is willing to tolerate ultimately.
If you stop for 14 days and the symptoms go, what do you plan to do? Are the side effects worth putting up with for the benefits of the medication?
14 days won’t hurt to stop. If your fatigue goes away then they can try another statin which you may tolerate better. I’m hoping they ordered a blood test ? Checking your kidney and liver function and having a lipid panel ? If they haven’t I’d ask for one.
If bloods are all good then at least you know the statin side effects are not knock on side effects from anything affecting organs.
One other thing that might be worth a try and speak to your doctor first is CQ10. It might just be placebo but it’s helped my aches and pains which I’d associated to my Lipitor 40mg ( which may or may not of been a correct assumption!) here’s a health line link …
