Blood clot in chamber
Yes, I did. Mine was a similar size in the apex of my left ventricle. I was prescribed all the usual heart meds, plus warfarin. It took 8 months for my clot to go. I had an MRI to determine this as they couldn’t see properly on an echocardiogram. I was told that the length of time it takes for a clot to resolve was variable, so don’t lose hope.
Hi
Great that your clot has gone. Can I ask whether they are confident that clotting won’t happen again? Has your heart fully recovered?
What my cardiac guys are kind of suggesting is that the damaged part of my heart isn’t recovering as well as it should so the impression I’m getting is that I might be liable to getting clots for the rest of my days. Not 100% sure on that yet as not had any formal feedback from recent scans.
Wondered what your experience was.
Thanks
Hi my heart is only working at 39% still I was hoping for a bit of an improvement since September 2022. But you never know the next echo there might be , I'm on a higher dose of warfarin to see if that will shift the clot, I still get sharp stabbing pains nearly every day sometime to the point I have to use the gtn to ease it. Some days I just feel shattered, I've put on 1.5 st so can't wait to be able to exercise properly ha
Hi NikiHarky
Yes I have a LVT clot after my HA in December. I’m on rivaroxaban, ramipril, Lansoprazole, clopidogrel, atorvastatin.
I don’t know the size of it but I think it was described more as a shadow, or like a lining of the wall of the heart rather than a ‘lump’ if you get me?
I had a stress echo a couple of weeks ago which started as a ‘normal’ scan then a contrast one and they seemed confident enough to put me through the stress bit. I’ve not had and feedback yet from that but my thoughts are that they wouldn’t have put me through the stress bit if there was any chance the LVT was still there? 🤷♂️
I have a transthoracic echocardiogram (whatever that is?) on the 11th April (junior doctors strike permitting!) which I think is to look at the clotting specifically.
So I don’t have an answer for you sadly as I’m still in that wait and see period.
Any clotting is worrying for sure. I’m with you. I’ve been told to keep HR below 120 until confirmed as gone.
Hope things work out for you 👍
Hi. I had a HA in 2007 with a clot in the apex of LV. I was put on Plavix for several months at first but going to a teaching hospital for a 2nd opinion, I was put on Warfarin. I don’t know how long it took to dissolve completely but I think it was gone in a year more or less. But that’s just a guess, been so long. Thank goodness. I’ll stay on Warfarin for life. Getting on well. I’m able to vigorously walk 5 days a week for 2.5 miles a day. Again, thank goodness. Wish you well. Cheers!
