Hey everyone

Looks like Mum is gonna have to wait another day until she gets to look after me.

Still have a high temperature and my BP is still a little on the high side, another test today and that was negative again, Apart from that I'm fine πŸ˜ƒ well apart from the obvious

How do people sleep in hospital, I mean I know I'm coughing and have a blocked nose keeping me awake, but all the noise.... I'm actually looking forward to going to Mum's just for some sleep.

Hello :-)

You might feel a little bit disappointed having to stay a bit longer but best making sure everything is A * before they let you home and I am sure you will be home for the weekend and Mum will wait however long it takes gives her a bit more time to do some more cooking :-)

How do you sleep in Hospital not that well for a lot of us the only thing I can think of is get Mum to bring you some ear plugs in !!!!

I remember one of my stays when they woke me in the middle of the night I had only just managed to drop of and asked to take my blood pressure I could not flipping believe it !

This will soon be behind you and you will be feeling so much better :-)

Nice to see your update :-) x

Dear You

The only time a Negative is a Positive is in this case,

Sleep? God I think the whole NHS is geared to do just the opposite !

But the time is slipping past and it will soon all be over.

My pryers and thoughts are with you

Hi V, hoping you will be home very soon and that your BP settles down. Not sure about sleep in hospitals. I can only remember bins banging shut all night when the staff changed their aprons and gloves after seeing every patient during Covid. Still they had to do it. Let us know how today goes. J

Ear plugs and eye masks... if you can handle them!

I'm sure exhaustion kicks in at some point... hospitals are very noisy places!!!

Sleep and hospitals eh πŸ™ƒ. Noisy, lights on and off, machines beeping other patients and then when you do nod off someone comes round to take bloods, do an ECG, give you tablets or a dr comes to talk with you. 🀣. Sleep, who needs it 😴😴😴😴😴

Over the last 11 years I have been in hospital about twice a year.Last time was in February for 12 days.

I wear noise cancelling head phones and an eye mask.

I have my observations done every 2 hours night and day.

I am on cardiac monitoring and the BP cuff is left on my arm so automatically checks my BP, heart rate and oxygen levels throughout.

I am also on morphine and GTN infusion. I actually sleep better in hospital than at at home!

Glad you ate on the mend - I use an iPod with Audible books on it, playing quietly via my ear phones - helps me sleep in hospital :)

Hi Valentina98. I assume you are in the Radcliffe, Oxford. Some 11 years ago I was blue lighted there, 1 am, straight in to Cath lab, 2 stents to save me. Moved to single room for several days then 3 further stents added. I recall being thirsty one night, around 2am and making my way to the nurses station. The mature nurse I quietly walked up to from behind had an amazing look on her face as she turned as I gently asked for a cup of tea. I would stick with their advice I'm still here 11 years on but suffering from Heart Failure.

I am indeed in the Radcliffe, it's not the worst hospital I've ever been in.

The doctors and nurses have been lovely
