Revitive machine

I have used this machine to try to help the circulation in my legs (CHF). On two occasions a day or so later my BP has been over 200. Has anyone had any similar experience?

Sorry, with that systolic blood pressure you need to speak to a medical professional. Over 180 anybody should seek advice (GP or 111, and not an appointment weeks away) and over 200 should go to A&E. I cannot comment on the machine suffice to say my previous podiatrist (prior to amputation and enforced move) was strongly against them!

Thank you for your advice. I'm already being treated for HBP and spoke to medic who says pain can cause BP to go high and to monitor. It just seemed a coincidence with using the machine and so just wondered if anyone had had similar experience. I've decided not to use again.

Hi Aljo.I was told any of the machines that stimulate muscles or help blood flow should not be used.

If you think about it these Revitit machines boost the blood flow in the legs, but it also must increase the blood flow everywhere - just my thinking of course, but would that not push your blood pressure reading up.

In saying that I had had an aortic dissection so this may be totally different for me.

Hope you sort out your blood pressure soon.

i have no experience of Revitive machines but have read that they should not be used by people with certain conditions and there is a particular warning that people with heart conditions should check with a doctor before using them

Congestive Heart Failure is a heart condition so you really should be asking a doctor, particularly as this seems to be having a negative effect on your blood pressure

Thanks for your comments. When I asked a GP some time ago I was told that as they had not had any training in this, they were unable to advise! I've stopped using it now just to be on the safe side.
