I am going on holiday next week, and have just had a thought about my stents. Do they set off the security machines you walk though at the airport??

No , you'll be OK they don't set the alarms off. I was worried the first time I went through. Keep a copy of your prescription though if you are carrying your meds.

No.

My stent doesn't.

One post mentions taking a doctor's prescription with you. It may seem like hassle but do it and if you get a new medication, get it updated. It is 5 minutes of admin for your GP. Imagine having your heart medication taken off you and the stress/problems of trying to get them reissued. Take them in original packing too, otherwise your pill box, blister pack is just unknown tablets to the customs officer. I joined a global SOS system after my last experience.

Hi

No but I have been stopped because they detected my GTN spray in my bag and I hadn't even opened it.
