Morning all. Been member for some time but think this is my first actual post. I have just been prescribed Nitroferetonin? for a possible urine infection. I have paroxysmal Afb and take
Bisoprolol, Ramipril, Doxazosin and Warfarin. Does anybody have experience of taking this
antibiotic with any of the above meds? Any nasty side effects? Nurse whom I spoke to on the
phone said it was OK, but I have been caught out before with incompatable meds. TIA.

Thanks. It's just a 3 day course and so far so good. Was caught out with Indapamide I think it was. Dr prescribed it, but never said I needed regular blood tests. Ended up having episode Afb and in hospital for 3 days being fed Pottasium tablets. Never liked that woman. 😡
Hello
I have recurring water infections and I have been prescribed and taken this med many times
Out of the other meds you take I take Bisoprolol
Even though I do not enjoy taking the Nitrofurantoin myself and count down the days till I take the last one if you have a water infection and you ignore it then it gets worse and can cause some serious complications so if the Nurse has said it is safe to take grin and bear it even though you may get no side effects at all but take it none the less
I hope your infection clears up soon and let us know how you get on with it x
So far so good! Only 3 day course, they really seem to Zap you these days , 100mg x2 a day. I know about the complications, my MIL had one or two nasty ones. Seeing pots of flowers on top of a wardrobe that wasn't there and thinking the Drs and nurses were her grandchildren. I certainly don't want that, my dreams are bad enough😊
After seeing how bad Urine infections can get there is no wonder you are taking them and 3 days is nothing to get rid of it and sounds like they are doing just that
Glad they are working you will soon have blast it away x
Hi, if you are a female keep reading. I am an 80 yr old female and have had paroxysmal AF for over 20 yrs, am on blood thinners (Xarelto), and a host of other pills for a multitude of woes. A couple of years ago I started getting urinary tract infections, a few months ago the cause was revealed when the GP put the speculum up what I have left of a vagina. I seems my advancing years have reduced my hormones causing the skin to be much thinner and easier for abrasions and infections to occur. The answer is that I have to insert a minute amount of hormone cream into the vagina twice weekly. SNAP! No more UTIs. Magic. Good luck.
Good morning. I too have a U.T.I at present and have kidney disease as well. Which is not good. I find its best to double check the meds interaction with your chemist. They are very good. Have been on Ramapril in the past for 15 years and now on Doxazosin. But not on the antibiotics that you are taking. Hope you feel better soon. Brian
