Cold feet and aching legs

I have permanent AFib, amongst a few other issues, and just wondering how other people cope with having cold feet and aching legs, especially at night. I am getting more episodes of very cold feet and painful legs, which are kicking out, twitching and uncomfortable when trying to settle down and go to sleep, mainly as I seem to be dosing off.Last night they were especially bad, and spent 3 hours trying to stop them hurting, ended up on floor with feet up, kneeling on them, legs wrapped around side, just trying to stop them kicking out.

Don't like to Google to much, as according to it, I identify as physical fit and healthy 😉, and a multi millionaire 🤣.

Seriously, any suggestions from experience would be great.

So sorry to hear that. I also suffer from cold feet, aching legs and painful cramps at night, especially during this cold weather. Before going to bed whilst watching tv I use an electric footwarmer for my feet and have an electric heated throw over the rest of my body. In bed I have an electric heated underblanket , but it is one that you can leave on low overnight. So I put it on 3 an hour before retiring and then move it down to 1 and leave it on all night. There are not many you can leave on. The make is Carmen. I also have a Warmlite infra red electric heater, they heat the body rather than the room and are portable. I use this when I do not have the central heating on and there is only me in the house, so it is more economical. I bought mine on e bay but you can also buy them on Amazon for approximately £40 . Tonic water helps me with the cramps. Hope this helps, best wishes.

as above stated mag thorate. Not all mags absorb especially as we age.am-arvc gave very good advice. This mag is quite expensive but it works.

I have Raynauds as well as permanent AF. Cold extremities are the norm for me. However, I discovered electric heat pads a a couple of months ago - brilliant!

They’re often used to give pain relief by pregnant women, I believe. Anyway, I bought one (about £40 from Dunelm, but available elsewhere too) and used double-sided carpet tape to stick it to the mattress. The pad has 3 heat settings and turns off automatically after 1.5 hours, so I go to sleep with it on. It works really well for my cold tootsies.

Hello

I live with Raynauds Phenomenon and my feet and hands get very cold too.

I wear bed socks and use an electric blanket in bed at night.

I am on high doses of Diltiazem to treat my heart condition, which has helped.

Beta blockers are known to cause Raynaud's Phenomenon like side affects.

Another thought has anybody considered Restless Leg Syndrome? It's another possible cause of the symptoms you are describing.

Maybe have a discussion with your GP and see if they can felt.
