I think I have unstable angina. I’ve had all the symptoms for 3 months now servere pain between my shoulder blades, chest ,low back where kidneys are , left arm and tingling and numbness in my hand also under my chin . It started happening just a few times in the beginning but gradually got more and more frequent and more servere until it is now several times a day . I’ve been to the ae over 10 times now . All readings for ha ok but no one is looking for anything else .and can’t get to my cardiologist until the 24 February to take this further am absolutely scared stiff that I’m heading for another ha unless someone does something. I’m taking the gun spray several times aday I live completely healthy life style I’ve done everything right since my ha 20 months ago 2 stents fitted I’m worried sick and no place to turn

Hello
I am sorry what you are going through and that when you have been to A&E despite thank goodness you have not had a heart attack they do not seem to have been very helpful with your symptoms
I am not up to date with knowing to much about angina but what I know is if I was not happy and felt as bad as you I would take myself back to A&E tell them exactly how I felt and that I was not happy to be sent home without someone doing something about it
If they were to say there was no one that could or anything to that effect I would ask if they were going to put on my discharge notes nothing was found to be wrong sending them home because they are fit and healthy !
Please if you feel this bad go back again we sometimes have to fight to be heard make them hear you and not dismiss you
Let us know how you get on x
Hi! Please don't be scared. I have been through this myself after having had a ha & 4 stents fitted 16 weeks ago. The consultant has now got me on Tildeum which is doing the trick. Hope this helps
I am really sorry to hear that you are going through this and struggling to find help - I know they won't be able to offer practical help but you could try calling the BHF helpline during office hours - their specialist nurses can be very helpful
Hi Eddie64
I have the same problem was in hospital for 5 days had all the checks and came back with the same answer unstable angina asked what happens now the cardiologist said we’re put you back in the hands off your GP nuff said
Sorry to hear what you are going through. Anyone who has had an MI will understand what you are going through.
It’s very frightening and even though your cardiac tests might have proved negative, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have angina.
Nevertheless, there are other conditions which mimic angina such as acid reflux.
Perhaps a trip to a gastroenterologist to rule out other possible causes might help.
Hi I had a heart attack in September and just thought it was indigestion. I have had two angiograms that show 100 percent blocked right artery. I m now waiting for. 3rd angiogram to fit a stent and rotablation. I have been diagnosed with unstable angina and have spent most of the last month in hospital. I am on numerous medications and it’s happening more and more. I get the pain but it is down both arms and really bad shoulder pain too. My ecgs always come back with slight changes but no heart attack shown by blood test. I hope your meeting with your cardiologist goes ok I really do understand how you feel. I feel at a loss every time I go to A and E but cardiology just sends me home the next day now to wait for the angiogram. I would say if you have any fears keep going to A and E to be on the safe side. good Luck
