Iwill be 70 years young in February I have Atrial Fibfrilation and Angina for a number of years but have scince been diagnosed with leaky valves but have to wait 10 months for eco scan to confirm the severity of it any advice what I can do to help myself while I wait

You could say you are 70 but if you like been in your 60's you could say you will be 69+1

As far as I know though about leaky valves while you are waiting and I hope you get an appointment quicker than you are expecting but I think and others might know different but keep doing what you no doubt already are a health weight , eating well , exercise basically a healthy lifestyle

Do not accept this long wait as a forgone conclusion. Ring the hospital and get yourself onto the cancellation list. Most depts have them. My husband was told three weeks ago his echcardiogram was scheduled for March. I went to our local hospital and asked for him to be put onto the cancellation list( nobody was answering the telephone) and they offered an appoint within a week.That was a lucky break but it has happened twice to us recently and so it must happen occasionally because they suddenly had available slots .If you are on the cancellation list you must be available to go fairly quickly but not necessarily immediately.If they do not call you within about 2 weeks then ring them again or go as the case may be....we are close to the hospital.I urge you to be procative and not sit back and wait.
