vagus nerve

hi all, my uncle is on the mend it’s never smooth sailing. We had issues again with abdominal pain yesterday. Ambulance came, oxygen levels fine, ecg and all other vitals fine. Someone has mentioned the vagus nerve to us being slightly damaged. Can cause abdominal pain and low heart rate. With his pacemaker after surgery I wonder if it’s this. He has had shortness of breath, he’s not been able to walk to far since bypass surgery due to weather. Only up and road and down. Wondered if anyone ever heard of vagus nerve before ? I’m going to mention to surgeon next week. But all scans he had on stomach came back clear

There are a lot of posts about the heart/gut connection and vagus nerve which runs very close to the heart and stomach which are very close to each other.

However, if your uncle has recently had an ablation a rare complication can be damage to the phrenic nerve which controls the diaphragm which can cause shortness of breath and difficulty breathing.
