3 weeks post triple bypass

Hi everyone well I’ve had my surgery and I’m home 3 weeks now, few complications which I won’t bore you with but so good to be home. Progress regarding recovery seems very slow, feel so weak, problems sleeping, very poor appetite, coughing. But should imagine all pretty normal. One thing that is bothering me is I am unable to use my left foot as normal so hindering my walking. To the point I fell over because of this ( thankfully landed on something soft ) I am unable to move my foot up and down. Funnily my right foot where they took the main graft from that leg seems fine 🤞🤞🙏🙏 They only took a small graft from the left leg but it’s that foot causing the problem 😟 I’ve obviously been in touch with my medical team so not asking for any professional advise just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what the outcome was ?

Best to get a doctor to have a gander. I had some issues with my right foot post bypass. They did checks to oake sure it was dvt.

Luckily it wasn't, but they gave some pain relief which sorted.

Also if you are on the cocktail of medication I was, you are more likely to get a gout attack as there is a lack of water in the system. My recent blood tests have shown an increase in uric acid levels so they are no medicating for that.

I suggest resting, elevating and icing in the meantime.

I am post 45 years and counting I had the vein taken from my right leg cut from knee to groin, did get an infection.I think it was in the leg but a long time ago so could have been the chest. You should certainly get that looked at because you need to be mobile to get fit again.

You don’t say how old you are I was 31 and very fit but never thought I’d reach this ripe old age and back playing walking football to.So get it sorted to start your full recovery.

Hi thank you for your reply, so good to know you have reached this ripe old age you are a true inspiration. I’m 71 so healing process may take longer. Funnily enough they took the big graft from my right leg which seems fine, it’s the right foot where they took a smaller graft from that leg that is refusing to work properly ( seemed ok when still in hospital )no sign of infection to any off my wounds. I have a phone consultation with a health clinician tomorrow.
