dapagliflozin - burning sensation after urination?

Dear vnarayan
It is a very common side affect of the drug, keep an eye on it as it can cause a thrush like illness.
Talk to your health care about it, don't leave it to long because it will take longer to clear it up.
I am on 10mg and have been lucky and had no side effects, but many have and talk of the same symptoms as you.
Wishing you well
Drinking plenty and regularly may help your symptoms but won't take away the cause.
because this drug makes you wee out the sugar, you are at much higher risk of getting a urine infection. So please take a urine specimen to the doctor for a dip test. Depending on the outcome of that you can get the docs to give you antibiotics to resolve the situation.
As you are on that style of drug it’s wise to have your own dip testers, which you can pick up on Amazon for very sensible prices, that way you’ll go to your doctor armed with the correct information.
similar problems, along with burning sensation, faced redness and pain. Lived with it for a year, spoke to my cardiologist, stopped the med 2 weeks back and its all gone now. Need to speak to him how and when to get back to the med.
Hi I’m on 10mg per day not had a burning sensation but I get thrush like symptoms
Been on Dapagliflozin for just over a year now and get thrush symptoms so using Canestan cream and Cranberry tablets which keep it under control as I don’t want to stop taking the Dapagliflozin!
Hi.stop taking them.I had a problem of swelling after taking Dapaglaflozin for two weeks.
it gave me thrush & I was taken off it
It gave me a really severe case of Thrush so I stopped taking it. Told my consultant that I would not take it again. I spent 6 months trying Canestan and Vagisal to no avail so ended going to see my GP who gave me Dermol 500 lotion to use and some pesseries, 6 weeks on massively better than it was.
