hello , I take Adizam, cansetarden, ravostatin, and clopidogrel for heart and bp

Also asthma medication

I’m prone to anxiety and wondered if anyone out there uses any thing like kalms etc that are off the shelf , I was looking for something just to take the edge off but as we all know so called natural remedies are not always compatible etc

I also know we are not doctors I was just looking for personal opinions of anything that could help so thankyou in advance 👍😊

I suggest you talk to your local pharmacist who is qualified to answer your question and may be able to offer you some over the counter non prescription product.

You know what, that’s a brilliant idea why didn’t I think of it , they know me and my medical history 🤷🏻‍♀️🤪 please note I shall be taking credit for your advice 😂😂

Thanks , have a lovely evening 😊

Dear Hazel1010

I am so sorry to hear of your struggles with anxiety and it is something that you should make your Dr aware of and not try to manage yourself.

Did it start with your heart problems? or were you prone to it before? some of the medication that you are on may or may not be attributing to it.

This needs checking out before you add another drug to your routine , natural or chemical .

Maybe instead of hoping that another tablet will help you, that you Dr can suggest something else, once he/she has diagnosed it.

Many on here follow a mindful course or yoga etc that may help.

I hope that you get the help and support that you need over this matter as anxiety is truly a crippling illness.

Take care you are in my thoughts.

good morning, thank you for your reply

I am retired now although very busy with family etc , I had a very stressful job and life before which a few years back change definitely for the better and I was the epitome of chilled so to speak. Then 18 months ago I developed heart problems which are not too serious and what with Covid stress etc became very tense and worried about the most simple thing .

I have discussed it with the doctors and been given various web sites to look at and tried different methods of relaxation etc , I just wondered if Kalms might help as I used them years ago .

Another person on here suggested talking to my pharmacist as she knows me and my medication

Many thanks for your very helpful message, have a lovely day 😊

Hi Hazel,

I too suffer with anxiety and that messes with my sleep at times which leaves me drained for the next day and subsequently I suffer more ectopic beats than usual. I am currently taking clopidogrel, ezetimibe 10mg, atorvastatin 40mg. When I looked into taking Kalms, I discovered that the main active ingredient is Valerian root which can apparently affect heart rhythm. I figured it was best for me to avoid because of my ectopics but depending on your heart issues it may be okay for you. As everyone always says: best check with the doctor/pharmacist first to be safe. Good luck with finding something that helps!

Hi. I asked my Pharmascist about this and he said no because I am on Warfarin. I wanted to try them because I wasn't sleeping very well. It may be very different for you though! :)
