Hello & Welcome :-)

I am on a few medications because of heart attacks and Bypass op and I suffer with indigestion and my stomach feels on fire which can be indigestion to as well as always having a lot of stomach aches

I also suffer with IBS but my Doctor is wondering if any of the tablets I am taking are making things worse so one by one we are going to try changing a med and see if it settles which I do hope it does

It could be worth talking to your Doctor and asking if they feel any of your medications could be giving you this as a side effect

Let us know how you get on :-) x

As I wrote elsewhere, I have both reflux and heart problems and the pain is the same a lot of the time. Sometimes it is a burning pain then I know it is reflux. I usually take Gaviscon and have a spray of GTN. I was told that GTN does usually help reflux pain. In fact when I've gone to Emergency with chest pain they've given me a dose of Gaviscon or similar to see if it was reflux.

I was on clopidogrel the anti platelets medication for 12 months. It’s known that it can cause stomach issues. Lanzoprozole is often prescribed with it to help this. I always took clopidogrel early afternoon having taken lanzoprozole in the morning so my stomach was covered so to speak. I still had nausea now and then.

That's interesting because my cardiologist has advised me that it is only necessary to take Lansoprazole for stomach protection whilst taking Aspirin. He said that there is no need to take it when on Clopidogrel.

Hi there yes I was prescribed Dapagliflozin did not have the problems you have what happened to me was that I lost three kilos in weight over as many weeks and my already low blood pressure went even lower and I had very little energy after consultation with cardio doctor he decided to stop the medication after doing that I returned more to my normal self it is my understanding that Dapagliflozin can be beneficial to some people but does not suit everyone, hope this helps and you get it sorted

I always take Clopidogrel with my breakfast and make sure that I drink plenty of water with it. It's worth a try. Failing that, I would advise you to have a word with your cardiologist or your GP. I hope you get it sorted out soon.

I take clopidogral after breakfast and blood pressure candesartin and atorvastatin last thing at night. Although I'm taking a minimum of each I don't have your side affects. I do get pins and needles in finger tips and soles of feet. They are slowly reading over time.
