Hi
My husband is 67 and had two stents 17 years ago . He has been fine up until now but due to some breathing issues has been checked out and one stent has started to block and there is stenosis before and after the stent in the LAD and a large branch before the stent showing tight proximal disease.
The cardiologist suggested medication firstly as he doesn’t suffer any pain , however hubby decides he would like the stent option. Now the cardiologist has reviewed his case and feels a bypass would be the way forward.
Meanwhile he is prescribed isosorbide Mononitrate and Beta Blockers. He’s very active goes to the gym and runs. He’s only just started on the nitrates but tried to run this morning and had a strange feeling in his chest that he has never experienced before He is having the dizziness and light headaches which I think are usual when starting this medication. If it’s angina it seems odd that he hasn’t felt this sensation until starting the nitrate.
I would welcome anyones thoughts on this. He is waiting for a call from the cardiologist to discuss the bypass . Thanks everyone
