Chest pain after CT angiogram with contrast

Hi when I had a CT scan with contrast when I had the contrast in I got really bad chest pains during test doctor come out and asked me if I had asthma or COPD , I have asthma but now found out I have COPD from spirometry test, Had anyone had chest pains from CT angiogram with contrast thanks

Yes I had chest and arm pain during my CT with contrast scan. How long did they say the results would take?

Thanks for the reply, Just had test results back after five weeks, My stents are clear in my LAD and RCA and no other disease in any other arteries. In July they put me on amlodipine and pain went away. In July 2021 I had a CT scan for lymph nodes and notes said my arteries were significantly calcified, Four weeks ago I had a spyromety test at and it says in have mild COPD been to doctors about this and says a CT scan picked this up in 2020 just got to take copy of results in to doctor, I have never smoked, So don't know if this is causing my chest pain,

Hopefully the doc will be able to help, strange that Mild COPD was picked up in 2020 and no results went to your GP. Are you still getting chest pain?

Thanks for the reply, Since I have been put back on amlodipine the chest pains have mostly stopped I still get a few in upper centre of chest, I have noticed I am breathing a bit more heavily and coughing more, The results did go back to go but never got in touch with me the doctor told me this September just got to print my results off and take in, I am on inhalers for asthma, Also I am waiting for ultrasound on my heart consultant picked up a 2/6 murmur in July 2022

having an untreated lung complaint could eventually lead to heart problems

a few years after an episode of Takotsubo (an acute temporary type of heart failure) i was still getting short of breath - long story short: eventually diagnosed with asthma and v. mild COPD, now treated with a daily inhaler - not ventolin which i had used previously when needed - this has resolved the issue and left me fitter than ever - it enabled me to increase my exercise capacity, lose weight and reduce my BP

your heart and lungs work in tandem, anything which affects one has knock-on effects for the other, so i would urge anyone with symptoms which are not controlled by current medication to ask for a lung function assessment and see if a change of treatment might be helpful - i am very grateful that my GP picked up on my breathing issue and responded promptly

Thanks for reply, I will take my spyromety test results i had done at work to doctors when I get them printed off I do not have a printer at home. It says I have mild COPD,

good idea, i had that done by a practice nurse first - the result of that showed the need for a full lung function assessment with the chest and respiratory clinic - good luck

Look up NAC it may help a bit if coughing etc. I have Asthma but cant get steroids and found this is really good

Google it, it's an antioxidant and helps clear mucus amongst a lot of other things

Acronyms like NAC can mean any number of things, which makes googling a bit hit and miss - a full name is more helpful
