Hello :-)

I am not a Doctor and it is only my opinion but to me 92 seems a little low and because it is affecting your breathing as well I thought or would have hoped the Doctor would have looked into this

I would try and see someone else and ask them why they are not concerned and explain to you why as well as stressing how your breathing feels and ask them to explain that as well as this is a concern to you if not to them

More will be able to give you their opinions as they read your post and I hope you can get the answers you need

Let us know how you get on :-) x

I am not a medic but when my oxygen levels were at 94 there was concern in my local AAU(the day unit of A and E. )They quickly did bloods and checked my medications, etc, etc. I suggest this needs fairly swift investigation and esp. if you are having breathing problems.

your GP should send you for further tests however if your in heart failure 92 is not that low, some heart failure patients run as low as 80 as do people with other breathing problems. It takes time but your body gets used to running on low sats, unfortunately there are a lot of down sides to low sats but that’s all part of heart failure and your consultant should explain what to expect.

When mine is 92 the doctors don't seem to mind but if it goes any lower they withhold my candesartan for a day or so. 92% or 93% seems to be the lowest normal.

I have heart failure and COPD. My oxygen levels are usually between about 87 and 92. My body seems to cope with these stats and my HF Nurse isnt duly worried.

Hi, I think oxygen saturation level below 95 should raise some concern. Please re -check O2 saturation level. Are you on lots of medication including nebuliser. How old are you -may I know.

Hi Giggsy123, do you have any problems with your hands? I was getting low results then remembered I suffer from 'vibration white finger' so I asked them to try another way, (they can do it on your toes or ear lobe) it certainly made a difference with the results.

They reckon over 94 is normal. When I was in hospital mine were continually 100, and the nurses were asking the cardiologist if he'd ever seen that before. I'm not boasting because I was in there waiting for triple bypass! I think 92 is just wrong side of borderline, so should be flagged up as a concern.
