Heart not pumping correctly,,, but Dr says it’s not a concern
thankyou for taking the time to respond ,,, i really appreciate it ,,, and thanks for the clearer advise than i received by telephone today , it’s put my mind at rest and i look forward to going to Pulmary rehabilitation asap, 🎈
"not pumping properly" is rather vague and, yes, I would want to see a cardiologist. I would ask what the risk of a stroke was. I have Atrial Fibrillation which means my heart doesnt pump properly. This means that there can be places inside me where the blood doesnt flow properly and clots can form. Clots can cause strokes.
Notice I use the word "can" a lot. I don`t think any of it is likely but it is possible and, in your position I`d want further information
thankyou , i’ll keep that in mind for future ,
When I was told I had an EF of 20% I really panicked. It was a relief to be told 50 - 60% was normal, so it was only very bad, not extremely bad. With rehab and meds it is now 60%, so improvement is possible!
It is a bit confusing. I think it depends if you have any other problems going on. Mine is 47 but because my xray showed an enlarged heart and my blood pressure is a bit on the high side, I have been prescribed blood pressure medication. My doctor has been in contact with a specialist but I have only seen my doctor. I was also alarmed at 47 but then looked into it and realised it isnt very low. Good luck and I hope all the advice on here helps.
