6 days ago I had two seizures when my heart stopped since then I have had a pacemaker fitted but had it not been for the quick response from the paramedics I would have been dead. At the time I was close to a hospital where I live is miles away from the hospital and I don’t think help would be here in time to save me

I am so sorry you went through such a frightening experience and it does leave us full of fear for a while that is perfectly normal till we start to gain our confidence back again

We do tend to think as well of all the " What If's " and that helps to feed the fear but the thing is the " What If's" did not happen

The wonderful paramedics did get to you on time and now you have a pacemaker to prevent this happening again so maybe rather than looking back at what could have happened focus on what did happen and what a better place you are in now

I know better than anyone this is not as easy as I have said it as I to can spend my days in fear and I empathise with you how it feels but I know we have to try and turn those negatives around to start to be able to let go

Someone once said to me

There is nothing to fear but fear itself

Took me ages to think that one through but when I eventually got it I thought how right they are

I hope as time goes on your confidence gets stronger and stronger x

Welcome on board

Wonderful paramedics saved you. Try to home in on the fact you have survived. I live in a country village eight miles away from nearest hospital, when I had a stroke the first responder was here in a couple of minutes, Ambulance within ten minutes. My point is that, when we are seriously life threatened, the NHS come up trumps.

I recommend taking the most positive attitude you can. You keep more friends and your recovery will go a lot better.
