Missing Posts

My daily BHF email listed several user posts, including 2 from people concerned about how their catching a certain virus might affect them, given their heart conditions.

Those posts 'removed' by BHF. It seems odd to me that 2.5 years into this certain virus, it is still considered a tab oo subject here. It strikes me as odd that contributors are allowed and ENCOURAGED to give anecdotal opinions and advice on all manner of serious heart conditions, all manner of drugs, remedies and exercise, but this one topic is considered out of order to discuss and potentially give comfort about.

Why can users give advice about condition A, B, C, and drugs X, Y, Z but not about *****? Are people REALLY more qualified to talk about (say) their personal take on heart surgery than their personal take on *****. It seems that BHF do indeed think that.

My presumption is that even this carefully worded post will be removed due to it contravening '1984 style regulations'.

Hi DD. Your post hasn't been removed (yet) as it doesn't actually contain the c word! I think Health Unlocked is using a bot that automatically removes posts with that word in it - although I don't think the original posters are informed that it's been removed or why. Obviously it's mainly new members using the word, and it's immediately putting them off using this group.

The post I believe where removed for stating unfounded and inaccurate statements. And of course the scare mongers regarding vacation which is everyone’s own choice.

Dear DiggyDoggy

The main reason I think that these posts are removed is because they are mainly put up by and supported by people that seem to have no other interests,

Its always their first post or their first answers,

The reason I am cautious about these posters is them { not saying you } collecting so called evidence that this may or may not be bigger than we think is happening.

You have to trust now and then the facts that are presented by studying bodies who have nothing to gain by the findings and not some fly by night “No win no fee” lawyers, that a lot of the pubic has already turned to.

Please for a minute don't think that I take the subject lightly having lost both parents to it { but after a huge fight managed to get that off the death certs because we as a family knew that it was not true in their cases }

These are my thoughts and mine alone.

I've had posts removed for sharing yellow card data. Unfortunately if a post is reported multiple times it typically gets removed. On some subjects it seems, the truth is suppressed.

I haven't had any of my posts removed when I shared the link to the Yellow card report.

If misinformation is posted it is removed.

Hello :-)

I agree with gilreid1 and Hidden on the explanations they have given as to why this is the case regarding these kinds of posts

It is however a shame as someone like me that if I caught it would need all the support I could get that this is the case but BHF have to make these decisions in the best interest of the majority of members using the forum but I can also see how it is frustrating when people are worried and cannot come on and express their concerns and get support they need :-) x

My Dear Bekind28

I love information and how it can benefit so many people, but we don’t have to look back far to see how these threads get distorted.

I for one think in this case that the BHF is doing their job in protecting you and me from this mis-information that could send your anxiety sky high.

Now we are all adults and the trolls / mis-informationists luckily don’t bother me { and oh God do they try } but that sort of mis-information can be very damaging to some.

If you think Black Is White I will sit down and listen to you, where your information is from and how you come by it, convince me and I will wave your flag.

So far, and believe me many a claim lawyer is trying, has not a single piece of evidence has been proved to back up their claims.

Its so sad that a massive amount of resources { our money } are being put into this to counterbalance the claims.

Its a sad grab the money, sue whoever to feather your nest society.

I don't totally disagree with you. But personally I'm not keen on the "I'm bright enough to sift out disinformation from genuine information, but OTHER people need to be protected from it by corporations" approach that is heralded by so many.

The government and media are now essentially ignoring **** and treating it as they would colds and flu. So why not do the same here?

Like you I hate any form of censorship, but having been involved in some of the other posts about the subject and the way they turned very nasty, I can understand the BHF reluctance to allow the debate to continue.

Its a shame that it couldn’t be discussed openly but all { and I mean all } posts were high jacked by some very vocal people who were whipping up fear among the more vulnerable members on here.

Most would only post once then disappear only to re-appear under another name { same manner of words etc not that hard to work out }

A good percentage were about “ the protection side “ some even stating that it could make our problems worse { impossible in my case to have been any worse} then the others started, that reading between the lines you could see were fishing for names etc to add to their “ no win no fee claim”

You had to have been on here at the time to realise the utter chaos their posts and answers caused, and why at this particular moment that subject { for good or bad } is banned.

Thank you for taking the time to give a fair and reasonable explanation. I haven't seen any of the threads you mention, so I appreciate you filling me in,

I can post about this on Health unlocked CLL but not on BHF, I’m fairly new to this forum and was surprised about this subject being blocked on here, but I don’t know what went on before, so I just respect the rules. Dave.
