Missed Medication and Panicking

Hi All

Wondering if anyone can help me!! I was rushing out this morning and have forgotten to take my ticagrelor and think my aspirin as I normally take them together in the morning. First of all will o be ok as I am now worried as I am only 5 months post stent so have gone the whole day with no new blood thinners in my system. Secondly I have just taken my evening ticagrelor and am now wondering about taking a 75mg aspirin as I am sure I didn’t take it this morning. My main worry is I have read somewhere that there is a certain dose you shouldn’t exceed of aspirin a day of taking ticagrelor (I think it’s 300mg) but just wondered if anyone knew for sure because I would want it to be I take a second one now having taken this mornings and the dose of the day will be 150mg if I did take my morning one. Hope this all makes sense.

Thank you in advance

According to one of my cardiologists aspirin protects for two days. However, on 75mg a day an extra tablet should be fine.

Missing a pill is nothing to worry about, if you read the drug instructions in the packed I think you’ll find it says don’t take a double dose, ie don’t take two at the same time, but if you remember earlier enough take it then. However, you have nothing to worry about just missing one, if you were to miss several then I’d worry. If you have a mobile try downloading an App called Medisafe, it’s free and you can add your pills, dosage, refill reminders and times to take pills and it sets alarms when to take them, highly recommend it.

Thank you I will have a look at that app. I am normally ok with my reminders just not sure what happened yesterday.

I highly recommend these

careco.co.uk/item-p-dl08132.... You can get them through Amazon as well.

I make them up a month at a time (I have 4) They show at a glance what you have taken and what you still need to take.

I pop my days pack in my handbag when going out and can carry a spare.

On the few occasions I have been taken to A&E I can also just grab a few days worth of medication for my hospital bag without having to muck about.

Thank you and think I need to keep some of each in my bag encase. Not sur what happened as I am normally so careful.

Thank you again

Whilst NOT wanting to devalue the advice from Carokai in anyway, I personally have found this type of pill box really helpful and it helps a great cause!

But don't worry about missing pills, we have all done it

Take care

Thank you and I will have a look. Just scared as I am still in the dange timescale and I guess that’s why I panicked.

Thank you again.
