New my blood pressure is down to around 125/86 to 140 my pulse is sometimes down just under 60 bpm. I have 10mg ramapril and 10 mg Lercanidine 10mg and bisoprsol 5 mg. I am worried about my heart rate being under 60 although it is normal for it to be in the 60s. I have a headache quite often.

Hello :-)

The combination of meds is certainly working on your blood pressure but your pulse I think is a little bit low and might be contributing to the headaches or could be a side effect from one of the meds

I would talk with my Doctor about this I know they are closed now till Monday but if you are worried you could phone the pharmacist tomorrow and ask what they think will give you that peace of mind :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hi,

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I will talk to my GP on Mon about my pulse etc. I am a worrying sort of person! I've been busy today doing housework and might have overdone things. I had mild Covid a month ago, which seems to have taken it out of me a bit.🙂

Hi,Thanks, I am a worrier. Before the blood pressure scare and increase in meds I don't think I would have even noticed my pulse. I have been on blood pressure meds for over six years, without change, so shocked when my review showed I had to increase them. I had sepsis pneumonia twice in six months and although my hospital stay was short and I never reached the level of illness a lot of people have, I tend to panic!

Hi, My hr often goes down to the 50s while resting since being on beta blockers and ramipril, I like to think it makes up for the times it's going at 190 in afib. Joking aside, it doesn't seem to affect me and it soon goes up to the 70s/80s when I move!

Just under 60 is fine, mine was 43 so I went back and they dropped the bisoprolol which raised it to your level

My usual resting rate is around 55 which is just fine - blood pressure averages 122/72 plus or minus 5 depending on the amount of exercise I do. Occasionally my HR dips down to the upper 40s, but I don't feel any ill effects. My daughter, who runs half marathons now and then, says most athletes have to work hard to attain such levels. 😀

I certainly would not worry about a pulse of 60 when you are on that fose of bisoprolol. Mine often drops below 40 and my ICD does not start to pace me until it drops below 30 and I am still fine. The most important thing if you are worried is to speak to your doctor rather than relying on a chat group that is not allowed or qualified to give medical advice.

Hello, Thanks everyone. The change in my medication, after a few years bothered me and I had a few side effects at first, but talking with out surgery' s clinical pharma, who gave me a few tips and after a couple of weeks the side effects stopped and the meds took effect. I will talk to a clinical person at our surgery, as they do try and help quickly but it's not easy to get through! I feel better today and so far my pulse is in its normal upper 60 bpm. I will admit to panic yesterday, not helped by the recent mild Covid, last month, which was a shock, but as (we were on holiday and had to come home as staying in a hotel) and wanted to see what people thought, so thank you!!!

I normally carry around 10kg if I carry a weighed pack... training for carrying amateur radio equipment up those Munros. I wouldn't entertain doing it in temperatures like they are here at the moment - 28C today, 32C tomorrow. Monday I'll be walking nowhere and probably be taking a few cool showers. Keep cool and take care. 😀

Hello, I have been taking daily bp reading as my GP thought it was a bit high when he took it. 4 days ago I had a blood pressure spike of 190 over 95 so rang 111 and they told me to go to A&£. When I arrived, they took bp reading straight away and my systolic bp was up to 235/90 , the bloods and ecg where OK and after talking to the doc and my bp on the way down, they sent me home to see my GP. He has upped my bp meds from 10 mg Ramapril and 10mg lercandpine to 20 mg lercandarpirne with the 10 ramapril. My blood pressure is down to between 120/72 to 135/70. I feel OK now. When my blood pressure was high, I felt very panicy. I wondered if anyone else though that panic can be caused by high bp or that panic attacs caused BP spike. Thanks for reading this!
