Hello - 14 months in after Stemi Heart Attack and two/three strokes and much medication. Noticed my toe nails are going soft and white, my hands go white and I have been told that is the beta blockers but I have no feet problems otherwise... any ideas please?
cheers John

Hello
How interesting you have posted this
My toe nails have also gone soft and white and I have complained to my Doctor several times about this and they like just crumble when I cut them all I got was all my blood tests were fine
I never knew Beta Blockers could cause this and of course I take them this will be something else I will mention to her when I speak with her tomorrow
I hope you get some good replies as they may help me to x
Whilst beta blockers are known for making some people feel cold particularly at the extremities your nail problem sounds more like a fungal infection. Book a podiatry appointment and get a proper diagnosis and treatment as left untreated it cidcause more serious problems particularly if you are diabetic.
I was found to have low Vitamin D levels and had to take a Vit D supplement. My nails have improved and I felt so much better. Have a read on Vitamin D and maybe ask your GP to do a blood test as this is not always done as routine in annual bloods/health checks.
I do seem to have an infection on the right toes but not on my left and all nail crumble! Now my finger nails are terrible, look as though I’ve been digging the garden 😭 I bought a nail strengthening etc varnish, nothing and I’m gutted. I have been takin biotin and magnesium nothing done any good.
