Hi
Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) means your heart doesn't fill up with blood very well. HFpEF isn't as well understood as the more common heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) where the blood doesn't expel from the heart very well. Because its hasn't really been understood there has been little research into the condition & even less on how to treat it. However, it's now 'in vogue ' and is getting the attention it deserves. Just recently emphagliflozin (I might have spelt that wrong!) has been authorised to be used as a first line med.
This link will probably help you understand the condition more
Thank you, had echocardiogram etc two years ago an also had blood test that says if you’re under 300 no heart failure, mine was. 1, 810!!had to see cardiologist within two weeks! Also have AFib, AFlutter , CKD stage 3b but, as I am 85 next month, still here, still doing what I can!!! Thank you again( (NT-proBNP) results was 1,810.
