Hypertension attack

I recently had a severe hypertension attack. I had symptoms over several days. MRI scan ruled out a T I A. I've been put on 8mg daily candesartan took my 2nd dose today. I still have headache and dizzyness to the point that I can't walk far or stand for too long. I just wondered if anyone else had these symptoms and how long candesartan took to elevate the symptoms and lower blood pressure please Thank you

My first question is do you have your own BP monitor to check how you are doing? If not my personal recommendation would be the Omron M3.

Candesartan will start working in a few hours but according to the NHS it can take up to four weeks to become fully effective. Usually one would say 7 - 10 days but Candesartan appears to have a longer half-life than most (the longer the half-life the longer things take to stabilise). Let us know how it goes.

Thankyou! Yes I have a Omron BP monitor, which is showing a lower reading. It's the constant dizzyness and headache that affecting me.I'm hoping once my BP reduces to a normal reading then so will they??
