Happy 1st birthday to my stent😊

This time last year i was not a well pup. Stemi in the lad and rushed to hospital with the lights flashing. Didnt know what was happening until they had inserted a stent and cleared the 100%blockage. Surgeon then says "you had a heart attack but we've inserted a stent and fixed the plumbing". At the age of 43 to say i was shocked and bewildered was an understatement.

Roll on to this year and i feel mostly good albiet very easily knackered. Will be stopping the blood thinners today so maybe no more weird and wonderful bruises lol

Ive made lots of lovely memories with family and friends and never take a day for granted.

Good luck to you all and thank you for the support ive found in the group.

Julie x

Congratulations Julie and to her stent.

I had to smile when you said you will be coming off your blood thinners so (hopefully) no more weird and wonderful bruises, as I look at yet another unexplained bruise on my wrist (would you believe) I know what you mean.

Your post is very positive and a wonderful reminder that we shouldn't take a day for granted and should be enjoying each and every one of them.

Enjoy!

Happy 1st birthday to your stent!

I too was 44 when a 90% blockage was found in my LAD and had a stent fitted. Scary but was found after CT Angio picked up blockages. I was referred for one due to non-specific chest pain and strong family history of heart disease.

I had my angio and stent one week before my 45th birthday in November 2021.

They’ve since found I have a moderately leaky aortic valve.

It’s wonderful you’ve hit the one year mark. I can’t wait until I do. More because being on the anti-platelet drug Prasugrel have resulted in my monthly’s being a bloodshed! (Sorry, too much info!).

Happy Birthday our starts share the same birthday but mine is one year older at 2.It’s good to get off the anti platelet and maybe also the proton pump inhibitor at the docs discretion.

Good Health to you

Congratulations to your stent. I’m 9 months in. I have a question about the blood thinners. I’ve been told not to come off them. My stemi was caused by a blood clot blocking the LAD by 99%. I thought it was routine to have to stay on them as well as anti platelets after a heart attack. Anyone else been told this? X

Many happy returns of the day, but not the procedure, let's hope that you don't have a return of the ' probe'.👍

Happy first birthday to your stent. I had my third birthday in February and feel more confident each day.

How lovey Julie!

I also had a sudden heart attack 3 months ago. Had stents fitted in an emergency operation.

Glad you are feeling better and making the most of life. I came off some of my meds and was discharged from the hospital a few weeks ago.

Thank you for the positive and inspiring post :)
