Hi has anyone had a loop fitted , I have had a letter off cardiology saying they will be fitting a loop !

Yes, and I have had one replaced, too! Did you want to know about the insertion?It’s very simple and quick. Took about half an hour in all.

They numb the skin. The worst bit for me was the noise of the incision being made! No pain.

Once in, if you are very slender, you can see the outline, feels and looks a bit like a memory stick. A little chubbier and it won’t be seen at all.

No after effects, just a lesson in how to use it,

Mine has been useful to check fibrillation and unstable angina.

One bonus. I get waved past the electronic scanner at airports! They think it’s a pacemaker.

Thanks , how long does it stay in for , I have unstable angina aswell also heart rate is racing all the time so might be AF

My first was replaced after 2 years, for a newer, smaller model! But 1 think they last 3. Nearly everything except insertion is done remotely.It should now pick up all your heart changes, and you can alert them to any changes you, yourself have noticed.
