Took a call from the hospital (plug socket!)

I’ve got the 3 hospitals main switchboard numbers plumbed into my phone.

They called me at 15:48 which meant it wasn’t an alert of the overnight problem but once again it started normally as they asked me how I was.

Basically my device which lives under the bed hadn’t checked in with the hospital since the end of February. They send a data pulse to it periodically to check it still works.

When that fails they call me up.

I pulled the mattress out & took a look but the device was dead as a doornail. Not responding at all. Then I checked the plug. Which has come partially out of the socket. I cannot for the life of me work out why.

I’ve taken a download of my data though & sent it in before the person who called me finished her shift.

They haven’t called me back & the ICD’s alarm hasn’t rung so I think I’m ok but I’m happy to report I’ll be checking the plug a little more often!

I had similar with my pacemaker monitor. The slightest knock and it disconnects. A pain if you have an adventurous cat. I think the hospital would have told you if you were no longer with us.
