I’m new here & wondering if anyone has any advice. My husband had a cabg x 5 in January and his chest wound leaked for a long time thankfully that has cleared up but 3 blisters have formed on the wound now - the District nurse thinks they will reabsorb in time. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a few issues with my chest scar including leaking and an infection causing itchiness and redness. I was told by the nurse at the surgery to put either Vaseline or Bio Oil on the scar at nighttime . I used Vaseline and it certainly helped as well as gently massaging the scar so any ridges or bumps disappear over time . Everything calmed down in days and six months post procedure, my scar is disappearing and causes me no issues whatsoever. Be patient and time does heal .

Thank you for your kind response. Over night the fluid inside the blisters seems to have reduced and they are flattening a bit. Everything is a learning curve at the moment so the support from this site is invaluable. Wishing you continued good health.
