I assume you are on blood thinners, with the AF and a family history of stroke. Make sure your electrolytes are at optimum levels, the balance between potassium/sodium and magnesium is critical!
Thanks for reply no not on blood thinners as never caught the palpitations I've spoke to doctor and wouldn't put me on blood thinners unless it's shown on ecg and even then they said would have to work out the risks I'm on bisoprolol 3.75mg
My dad's had symptoms of dizziness throughout his life never caught it till he had a stroke he's now in permanent afib and has heart valve disease
My dad had nosebleeds and ended up with stokes, the last one took him off! That was 1980 though and there wasn't any special treatment then. I'd go back to the doc and get your blood clotting readings checked, to be on the safe side. You might want to take a baby aspirin each day-75mg, which helps with thinning the blood a bit. With a history in the family, insist on some tests to check. I also take omega 3 and lycopene which both help to keep the blood flowing smoothly. I take 60mg Edoxaban and 2.5 bisoprolol fumerate as well as 20 mg Lisinopril for BP.
Still getting the ectopics today quite often and when it happens weird feeling hard to explain lasts a second 🤷♂️
Well, I'd ask for another electrolytes test, it's the balance between the minerals-potassium, magnesium, sodium, chloride. Electrolytes are minerals in your body that have an electric charge. They are in your blood, urine, tissues, and other body fluids. Electrolytes are important because they help: Balance the amount of water in your body. Balance your body's acid/base (pH) level.
Some symptoms of electrolyte imbalance are:
Cramps.
Dizziness.
Irregular heartbeat.
Mental confusion.
So you see how important they are-we are also told to reduce salt(sodium) but not enough is as bad as too much!
